Government Invests In Cybersecurity For Small Businesses

Did you know that the Government is providing funding to small businesses (less than 19 employees)  to check their cyber resilience?

The Australian Government’s Cyber Security Small Business program is supporting small businesses across Australia to have their cyber security tested buy a provider that has been approved by the Council of Registered Ethical Security Testers (CREST) .

The funding takes the form of a grant of up to $2,100 for a certified small business security health check. Applications are now open for 2019-2020 grants.

The health check will assess how well the business is prepared for a cyberattack and outline a list of cyber risk mitigation strategies that small businesses can use to bolster their cyber resilience.

This initiative is a wake up call to businesses of all sizes.

If the Government thinks this is important enough to fund for small organisation’s that may not be able to afford such a review it shows the importance and seriousness with which we should all treat cybersecurity and resilience.

What are you doing on a daily basis to keep your business safe from cyber attack?
